Black Eyed Kids

Black Eyed Kids (BEK) are unsettling beings described as children with slightly pale skin and entirely black eyes. They range in age from seven to sixteen.

According to reports Black Eyed Kids will ask to be let into your house or car. They’ll say they need a ride or to use the phone. At first they’re calm and speak in a monotone, but if denied entrance they will become angry and agitated. If they are continually denied entrance they will often reveal deep, black eyes. Many witnesses have reported a strong urge to let them in accompanied with an overwhelming sense of dread. The method for killing Black Eyed Kids is unknown, due to the fact that nobody is sure what they are, only that they pose a threat.

In 2013 a man posted his encounter with Black Eyed Kids on Reddit’s No Sleep forum. In 2000, when he and his wife were getting ready for work at about 6:00 AM, they heard a knock on their door. The moment the man opened the door, he was overtaken with an inexplicable sense of fear. The man described the person at the door as a teenage boy with a knee length leather coat, short black hair, and sunglasses. The boy was eating an apple and asked if he could come in and warm up. The man told him “no” and closed the door. The teenager knocked again and the man opened the door. The teenager asked again if he could come in and warm up. The man again replied “no” and attempted to close the door. Before he could close the door, the teenager put his hand near the door’s hinge and stopped it. “Can I at least get some ketchup for my apple?” said the teenager. “F—that” the man replied, a little confused. “Get outta here, my wife is calling the police.” The teenager then lowered his sunglasses revealing his pitch black eyes. “You won’t be calling anybody,” he replied. The man then forced the door shut and locked it. He jerked open the curtains open next to the door but the teenager had vanished. When he stepped out onto the patio, he noticed a half eaten apple lying on the ground.

There have been reports of people who let BEKs into their homes, unfortunately none of those are very well documented. There are a few reports of people who have seen a friend or neighbor who let them in and then went missing. The most well documented report of someone who let them in tells of a man who answered his door late one night to find two male youths, both staring at the ground. One of them asked if they could come in, he said they were lost and that the other one needed to use the toilet. The man let them in. “Phone’s down the hall” the man told the one who spoke. The other one went towards the bathroom. “Thanks” said the one who spoke. Suddenly the man was overwhelmed with a sense of terror. The kid then turned around revealing his black eyes. The man turned to run but the other one was standing at the other end of the hall. The man became very dizzy and struggled to remain on his feet. The children said that they had come to collect him. The man then pushed past them and ran into the other room, where he slammed the door. After standing against the door for about an hour, he finally decided to make a run for the back door. He got out the door and jumped the fence. He ran to a friend’s house and convinced his friend to come back with him. They checked the house but there was no sign of the Black Eyed Kids. Ever since that night the man has had reoccurring nightmares of these teenagers standing over him and reaching for him.

If you look at many of the reports of Black Eyed Kids you will notice that witnesses rarely give their names and many people use this fact to claim that these stories are fabricated. However, one pattern I’ve noticed with people who have encountered BEKs is that, not only are they afraid of being belittled, ridiculed, laughed at, and dubbed insane, they are also afraid that these children with the stone black eyes will literally ‘find them.’ As a result many witnesses will not talk about their experience for years at a time. If they do decide to share, they will take to social media under usernames or they will ask to remain anonymous.

It is thought by many that these Black Eyed Kid sightings are merely a hoax or a prank perpetrated by mischievous teenagers. However, the average price of black contact lenses is about $230 a pair. BEKs are often seen in groups of two, which would amount to $460. There is no other known way to change the color of the entire eye. There are many theories surrounding Black Eyed Kids. One theory is that BEKs are a genre of vampire, due to the fact that they need to be invited in. Another leading theory suggests that they are alien/human hybrids, because of the black eyes and the pale skin. A lesser known theory is that they are manufactured, organic bodies made for the explicit purpose of being inhabited by demons. Some people believe this because there are little to no sightings of BEKs prior to 1997, a year before Dolly, the first cloned sheep, was made. Also many witnesses have described these children as appearing ‘fake.’ In Iroquois legend it was believed that if a child got lost in the woods for too long they would come back with coal black eyes. It was thought that their own ‘energy’ had been extracted and replaced with ‘negative energy.’

What are Black Eyed Kids? Are they merely mischievous teens with cash to burn? Or are they something more? Perhaps they’re a genre of vampire, or an alien/human hybrid. Or maybe, just maybe, they are clones. You decide!

And if you ever see a Black Eyed Kid tell us all about it…right after you figure out how to kill it…
